People were friendly and helpful The room was very clean The bed was very large and for once a hotel mattress that was not too hard !!! The evening meal was cooked to my liking and the breakfast was excellent and again for once in a hotel the toast was not rock hard
Just one thing, not having a key to the upstairs to allow access to the bedrooms. The key which was supposed to open the door at the top of the fire escape stairs did not fit the lock. I did not complain to the management because they obviously were trying their best.

I particularly liked the staff especially the Landlady who went out her way to make it a pleasant stay and was extremely helpful with Taxis and anything else we inquired about?.It was an extremely pleasant stay the rooms were clean and spacious and the cooked breakfast was excellent. If I needed to be in the area again i would definitely stay at the George without a shadow of a doubt.A big thanks to all the staff including the young lady who showed us our room and was a credit to the Hotel and bar staff.
There was nothing I was unhappy about?

The room was very clean and the female staff made us feel welcome
The man that was manger there was just so rude, accused us of smoking because the fire alarm went off and said we had to pay more for having a another person in are room even though we paid 75pound just for a room wich is way to expensive and then the man trying get more money out of us?! He doesn't deserve to run a bussiness he provided the pooriest service I have ever come across!!!! Would only recommend the hotel the got rid of that awful man
